Yemeni Defense Ministry Announces New Security Measures, Vows Firm Action Against Acts of Sabotage

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense has announced the implementation of a package of security and military measures to complete the execution of decrees issued by the high command. The Ministry confirmed that these steps aim to enhance security and stability, maintain public tranquility, secure public interests and sovereign facilities, and ensure the safety of main roads and the lives of citizens and travelers.

In an official statement, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff emphasized their full commitment to the decrees and measures issued by the National Defense Council and the Presidential Leadership Council. Foremost among these is the declaration of a state of emergency throughout the territory of the Republic of Yemen, based on the Yemeni Constitution, the Gulf Initiative, and the Power Transfer Agreement.

The Armed Forces explained that these measures are driven by their constitutional and legal mandates and their national responsibility to protect the country’s security. They warned of firm action against any attempts to destabilize the liberated governorates, stressing that they will not tolerate any sabotage plots orchestrated by the “Houthi terrorist militia” or any other groups or elements seeking to undermine national security.

The Armed Forces also reaffirmed their commitment to taking all necessary steps to combat:

  • Smuggling crimes and terrorist plots.
  • Looting and attacks on public and private property.
  • Infringements on national achievements and constitutional principles.

The Ministry of Defense called on citizens to strictly adhere to issued instructions and continue cooperating with the Armed Forces and security agencies. It expressed high appreciation for the stance of tribal members standing alongside state institutions and supporting the army and security forces in their duties.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the Armed Forces will not allow legitimate rights or demands to be exploited as a pretext for chaos or sabotage. It affirmed that official channels remain open for all citizens to submit grievances and demands, which will be handled according to legal frameworks to achieve justice and fairness.
