10 Giants Forces Soldiers Killed and Injured in Shabwa

Yemen Monitor / Shabwa / Special:
Ten soldiers from the Giants Forces were killed and injured by the explosion of an improvised explosive device that targeted a military vehicle (crew) in Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province (southeastern Yemen).
Local sources stated that an IED exploded in a military vehicle (military crew) belonging to the 32nd Giants Brigade, resulting in the deaths of 3 soldiers and injuries to 7 others while passing through the western line of Ataq city.
This incident comes at a time when forces from the National Shield are expected to arrive in Shabwa province to take over government facilities and centers, replacing the Shabwa Defense Forces affiliated with the STC, which currently controls the province.
The Giants Forces, led by Presidential Leadership Council member Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, are responsible for the northern and western fronts of Shabwa province, bordering Al-Bayda and Marib provinces, on the confrontation lines with the Houthis.
The Governor of Shabwa had preempted the arrival of the National Shield forces by redeploying a battalion from the forces of the 8th Shabwa Defense Brigade, led by Awadh Al-Dahboul, the former security director. Observers view this as a preemptive step to re-empower the STC’s forces.
