Abdullah Al-Alimi Emphasizes Importance of Unifying Ranks and Protecting State Institutions in Southern Governorates

Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) member Abdullah Al-Alimi expressed his regret regarding the tensions currently unfolding in the southern governorates following the rebellion of Aidarous al-Zubaidi. He stressed that these events were not what anyone had hoped for, despite the significant efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the PLC to prevent the crisis from escalating.
Al-Alimi stated that the current crisis does not signify the victory of one party over another, nor is it an occasion for gloating or viewing the situation as a defeat for any side. Rather, he described it as a restoration of the State, its institutions, and its legitimacy. He emphasized the need to maintain stability and public tranquility while clarifying facts away from the logic of conflict and “illusory victories.”
The PLC member called upon all political and social components, activists, and media professionals to: Exercise national responsibility, Work toward unifying ranks and rising above disputes and bickering, Prioritize the national interest by rallying around the State and its institutions and move away from partisan, factional, or personal gains.
He affirmed that the current situation demands the highest levels of responsibility from all parties involved.
He added that maintaining security and stability is a shared responsibility falling upon State institutions, local authorities, and all loyal citizens to ensure the rule of law and the protection of civilians.
Al-Alimi praised the “significant and responsible role” played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the security and stability of the southern governorates, unifying internal fronts, ending tensions, and backing the path of the State and its legitimacy. He expressed the Presidential Leadership Council’s deep appreciation for this vital support.
