The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, discussed efforts aimed at strengthening Yemen’s security and stability, as well as the latest developments related to the Yemeni file.
The Cabinet renewed its welcome of the request by the Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, to hold an inclusive Southern conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The conference would bring together various southern components with the aim of reaching a fair vision to address the Southern Issue through dialogue, in a manner that meets the legitimate aspirations of the people of the south.
The Saudi government affirmed its support for this step, considering dialogue the optimal means to address the Southern Issue within a comprehensive political solution in Yemen, and within the framework of the country’s unity and its legitimate institutions.
The Cabinet also stressed the Kingdom’s continued efforts to support Yemen’s security and stability and to create suitable conditions for the success of political and dialogue tracks, stemming from the fraternal relations between the two countries and their shared interests amid the current circumstances.
