Sources: Emirati Ship Enters Socotra Despite Withdrawal Agreement

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

Field sources reported today, Thursday, that an Emirati ship has entered the port of the Socotra Archipelago.

They considered this a clear violation of the agreement stipulating the withdrawal of the Emirati presence from Yemeni territory, and a challenge to the decisions of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council.

The sources indicated that this ship had previously docked at the same port during earlier periods without being subjected to any official inspection procedures, amid ambiguity surrounding its contents and the nature of its cargo. This raises major questions about the objectives of its entry and its timing.

They added that this comes amid escalating tensions and military movements by the STC forces at the airport and the port, along with fears of attempts to impose a new fait accompli that violates Yemeni sovereignty and threatens the stability currently experienced by the island.
