Hadramawt… Local Authorities Support Termination of Joint Defense Agreement with UAE and Declare Full Support for Al-Alimi

The local authorities in Hadramawt province on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, have followed the sovereign decisions issued by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, which fall within his constitutional responsibilities to preserve the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The local authorities expressed their full support for the decision to terminate the joint defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates and the demand for the withdrawal of its forces from Yemeni territory, considering this decision as one that reinforces national sovereignty and contributes to ensuring the security and stability of the nation.
The local authorities also affirmed their full commitment to the provisions of the decision to declare a state of emergency across the entire Republic, expressing appreciation for the trust placed in the governors of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra by granting them full powers to manage the affairs of the two provinces under the current circumstances.
The authorities declared their complete readiness to coordinate and cooperate with the Homeland Shield forces to take over camps and vital sites in Hadramawt, ensuring a secure transfer of military responsibilities, serving the interests of citizens, and preserving lives.
The local authorities extended gratitude and thanks to the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, represented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its ongoing positions and roles in supporting Yemen’s security and stability, emphasizing that Hadramawt views the Kingdom as a strategic partner and a strong pillar of support.
The local authorities called on the people of Hadramawt, its armed and security forces, to stand united with the legitimate leadership and implement the sovereign decisions to safeguard the security of the province and the nation as a whole.
