Officially: PetroMasila Announces Gradual Resumption of Operations, Prioritizes Restoring Hadramawt’s Electricity Supply

Yemen Monitor – Mukalla – Exclusive:

The Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila) announced on Thursday the gradual restart of operational activities across its oil sectors, just hours after local authorities in Hadramawt confirmed the success of mediation efforts.

In a statement obtained by Yemen Monitor, the company said that its top priority would be supplying the fuel necessary for electricity generation.

The national operator of the Masila oil blocks stated that the decision to resume operations coincided with an “improvement in security conditions and the securing of oil fields and facilities.”

PetroMasila added that it would give priority to tasks directly tied to essential public services—chief among them restoring power generation and providing fuel to the local market—to help end the severe crisis that has gripped the governorate in recent days.

In an implicit reference to the reasons behind the shutdown, the company explained that it had been forced to suspend operations over the past few days “to protect lives and facilities” amid heightened security tensions in the plateau region. PetroMasila expressed hope that security conditions would continue to improve to ensure uninterrupted operations.
