Social Figures in Mukalla’s Rural District Reject Presence of Foreign Forces in Hadramawt

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
Social figures, tribal elders, and notable community leaders in the Rural District of Mukalla have issued a statement firmly rejecting the presence of any external military forces in Hadramawt, calling such deployments an infringement on the governorate’s sovereignty and the dignity of its people amid the escalating tensions in the region.

The signatories stressed that imposing any political projects through the use of force is categorically unacceptable, as it contradicts deeply rooted Hadrami values of dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and respect for popular will.

They noted that Hadramawt has moved beyond the era of marginalization and dependency, and now possesses the awareness and determination needed to manage its own affairs without outside interference.

The figures called for empowering the people of Hadramawt to run their own security, military, political, and economic institutions in a way that aligns with their aspirations to preserve stability and maintain public order.

They urged all Hadrami components and residents to close ranks and unify their stance to protect the governorate from any attempts targeting its identity or its independent decision-making.

They also warned against dragging Hadramawt into conflicts or projects that do not reflect the will of its people, holding any parties seeking to impose a new reality by force fully responsible for the consequences.

In conclusion, the signatories reaffirmed their commitment to Hadrami unity and to the right of the people of Hadramawt to determine their own future freely, away from pressure or attempts at coercive control.
