Yemeni Interior Ministry: 14 People Killed in Traffic Accidents in One Day

The Traffic Police of the Yemeni Interior Ministry, in its daily report issued yesterday, Thursday, announced the recording of 10 traffic accidents. These included 7 vehicle collisions, two rollover accidents, and one pedestrian accident, resulting in one death and 14 injuries. The material losses amounted to approximately 1.6 million Riyals.
The report indicated that 156 traffic violations were issued in six governorates on the same day, as part of its efforts to reduce traffic accidents, regulate traffic flow, and ensure its smoothness.
The report clarified that Taiz governorate witnessed the highest number of accidents with 4 incidents, followed by Marib with two accidents. The remaining accidents were distributed across the governorates of Shabwa, Al-Mahra, Lahj, and Hadramawt Coast, with one accident each.
The police confirmed that the main causes of the accidents are primarily traffic law violations, including excessive speed and incorrect and dangerous overtaking. They warned citizens of the potential dangers resulting from non-compliance with traffic regulations.
