The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, praised the United Arab Emirates for providing one billion dollars to support the electricity and energy sector in Yemen.
During his reception of the UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al Zaabi, at Ma’ashiq Palace in the interim capital, Aden, Al-Alimi commended the directives of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, to support and finance electric power projects in several governorates. This support is intended to contribute to addressing the escalating crisis in the sector and improving citizens’ living conditions and basic services.
The meeting covered bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and prospects for strengthening and developing them at all levels. It also addressed the latest national developments and the required regional and international support to enhance progress in economic and financial reforms, and alleviate the humanitarian suffering created by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
