Yemeni Government Calls on UN for Firmer Stance Against Houthi Obstinacy

In a meeting today with the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaea Al-Zindani stressed the need for the international community to adopt a firmer stance against the practices of the Houthi group, which continues to obstruct peace efforts and defy Security Council resolutions.

Al-Zindani affirmed the Yemeni government’s full support for the endeavors led by the UN Envoy to end the war and revive the political process, pointing out that achieving lasting peace requires ensuring the Houthis’ commitment to international references and halting their violations against Yemenis.

For his part, Grundberg reviewed the outcomes of his recent communications and consultations with regional and international parties, confirming the continuation of UN efforts to find a comprehensive settlement that restores stability to Yemen and alleviates the suffering of its people.
