Houthis Respond to Netanyahu: “We Are Ready to Fight”

Yemen Monitor – Sana’a / Exclusive

In response to remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who threatened to “remove” the Houthi threat, senior Houthi leader Mohammed al-Bukhaiti affirmed that his group is ready to embark on a new, direct round of confrontation with Israel.

In what amounted to a veiled rebuke to Arab states, al-Bukhaiti said that what his group asks of their “Arab brothers” is not to join the fighting against Israel, but “at least” to draw inspiration from Yemen’s model.

Al-Bukhaiti said: “If we are forced to fight a third round of direct confrontation with the Zionist entity, what we ask of our Arab brothers during this stage is not to fight alongside us, but ‘at least’ to learn from the school of Yemen.”

This response — which blends military defiance with an ideological outlook — reflects the group’s insistence on portraying itself as a “vanguard” confronting Israel and highlights what it views as Arab reluctance to support the Palestinian cause, in an attempt to win widespread regional popular sympathy.

Meanwhile, Political Bureau member Mohammed al-Farreh issued a direct warning to the Israeli leadership that any escalation will produce backfiring consequences.

Al-Farreh described Netanyahu’s threats as merely “a pretext to justify aggressive policies,” asserting that his group possesses deterrent options capable of multiplying the costs to Israel.

He said: “Those who rely on intimidation will find that we respond with practical options that turn every hostile step into a political, economic, and strategic burden on the Israeli entity.”

Al-Farreh linked Israeli threats to attempts by Tel Aviv to “impose a single pole in the region and subjugate anyone who objects to the plundering,” indicating that the Houthi response will continue to target Israeli interests and its allies to undermine a project of regional domination.
