Armed Men in Military Uniform Rob Al-Hudaidah Workers After Raiding Their Residence in Lahj

Yemen Monitor / Exclusive:
Several workers from Al-Hudaidah Governorate were subjected to a raid on their residence and theft of their belongings and cash on Friday evening in Lahj Governorate (southern Yemen), which is under the control of the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Local sources told Yemen Monitor that two armed men wearing military uniforms stormed a workers’ residence belonging to people from Al-Hudaidah, located in Al-Jami‘ neighborhood in Al-Hawtah District, Lahj Governorate, and looted their personal possessions.
The sources added that the gunmen broke into the workers’ housing late at night, pointed their weapons at the workers, and demanded that they hand over their phones and any money they had, before fleeing the scene.
According to the same sources, security forces in Al-Hawtah District are investigating the case, which has sparked public outrage. At the same time, campaigns of incitement against people from northern regions — particularly by activists and media figures affiliated with the STC — continue to increase.
