Destruction of Large Quantities of Smuggled Medicines, Hashish, and Alcohol in Al-Mahra

Security services and the Public Prosecution in the district of Hawf, Al-Ghaydah city, Al-Mahra governorate, destroyed large quantities of smuggled medicines, hashish, and alcoholic beverages today, after completing the necessary legal procedures against them.

Judge Abdullah Salem Saeedan, Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Hawf Primary Prosecution, explained that the destroyed quantities included (1,633,200) capsules of the banned Pregabalin drug, (4 kilograms and 282 grams) of hashish, (40) cans of beer, and (10) bottles of Vodka.

Colonel Staff Zakaria Al-Yusufi, Director of Command-and-Control Administration at Al-Mahra Governorate Police, praised the vigilance of the security services in the Hawf district and Sarfait border crossing, and their continuous efforts in combating smuggling and seizing prohibited items. At the same time, he valued the level of joint coordination between the security, judicial, and public prosecution authorities in order to protect society from these dangerous scourges.

The destruction process was attended by Nashwan Ahmed Mohammed Al-Majeedi, member of the Hawf Primary Prosecution, Lieutenant Mohammed Al-Qubati, Director of Hawf Investigations, Lieutenant Abdullah Hafeez Bakreit from the Criminal Investigation Department, and a number of officers and representatives of the relevant authorities.
