Women’s Protests in Taiz Denounce Al-Mashhari’s Assassination and Call for Pursuit of Perpetrators

Yemen Monitor / Taiz / Special Report:
A group of women organized a protest this Friday afternoon in front of the Taiz Security Administration building (southwest Yemen), demanding the swift arrest of those involved in the assassination of Iftihan Al-Mashhari, director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund.
Participants in the protest held banners calling for justice and insisting that the perpetrators must not escape punishment. They stressed that the crime poses a direct threat to the city’s security and stability and should not pass without legal accountability.
The demonstrators expressed their outrage at the continued flight of suspects already known to security authorities, directing sharp criticism at the measures taken so far, which they described as inadequate.
They urged security and judicial bodies to take urgent action to bring the perpetrators to justice, particularly as the city has witnessed ongoing public anger and protests since the incident.
Al-Mashhari was killed Thursday morning by unidentified gunmen, in a crime that sparked widespread local condemnation and renewed demands to end the state of insecurity in Taiz.
