Marib: Farewell Ceremony for Third Batch of Children in “Kifak” Reintegration Project with Saudi Support

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

The “Kifak” project for the reintegration of children formerly associated with armed conflict bid farewell on Saturday to its third group of beneficiaries for the 2024–2025 cycle, with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

In its third phase, the project rehabilitated and reintegrated 25 conflict-affected children, while also training 25 of their parents in vocational fields under the economic empowerment program. The training included skills such as sewing and pastry-making, aimed at providing families with stable income sources.

Marib Deputy Governor Abdrabuh Miftah, speaking at the ceremony, said the project represents a model for development and empowerment initiatives supported by Saudi Arabia in Yemen. He emphasized that Kifak carries a major responsibility in caring for displaced and war-affected children.

Project Director Abdulbari Al-Ahdal explained that Kifak stands as a beacon of hope that restores children’s fundamental rights to education, play, and peaceful living. He added that the program goes beyond psychological and social reintegration, extending to economic empowerment for families to ensure a safe and stable environment.

The event featured artistic performances by the participating children, reflecting their psychological improvement, along with a documentary film showcasing their daily lives at the center.

The ceremony concluded with honoring the children and their parents, and distributing vocational empowerment tools to help them launch small businesses that could improve their living conditions.

Through such steps, the Kifak project continues to play its role in planting hope and restoring childhood stolen by war, affirming that the path to recovery begins with people—and with children in particular.
