Marib Police: Journalist “Hamoud Haza’a” Referred to Military Prosecution as an “Army Officer”

Marib Governorate Police said on Sunday that journalist Hamoud Haza’a—an officer in the National Defense Service Department of the army—has been referred to the military prosecution, a day after his arrest and the raid on his home.
The governorate’s official website quoted a security source as saying that “Second Lieutenant Hamoud Qaed Ahmed Haza’a al-Hadi, an officer in the National Defense Service Department of the Armed Forces, was detained on Saturday based on an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution on August 14, 2025.”
The source added that the detention came in connection with charges brought against him, and that he has been referred to the Third Military Prosecution to complete investigative procedures in accordance with military systems and laws.
The statement did not specify the charges against him.
The security source continued: the competent authorities will handle the case with complete transparency, in full compliance with legal procedures, stressing their commitment to ensuring justice and protecting the officer’s rights during the investigation period.
The source also urged all parties, including media outlets, civil society organizations, and activists, to exercise accuracy and objectivity in reporting on the case, warning against following rumors or misleading information before the investigation and legal process are completed.
