Yemeni Government Approves Establishment of Oil Refinery and Free Zone in Hadhramout

The Cabinet announced today, Wednesday, its approval of an agreement to design, build, finance, and operate a crude oil refinery, storage tanks, and a free zone in Hadhramout Governorate (eastern Yemen).

According to the official news agency, the Cabinet, in its meeting today in Aden, “approved the agreement for the design, construction, financing, and operation of a crude oil refinery, storage tanks, and a free zone in Hadhramout Governorate, while taking into account the comments submitted on it.”

The Cabinet tasked the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Saeed Al-Shamasi, with completing the necessary procedures for implementation.

The Prime Minister also briefed the Cabinet on the results of his recent talks with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Ambassador to Yemen, which focused on strengthening economic partnerships and attracting investments in vital sectors.

The Cabinet also tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with preparing new controls for the travel of official delegations and external participation, and to submit a detailed report on this to the Cabinet.
