Yemen Monitor / Aden :
On Saturday afternoon, women in the city of Aden continued their protest movement at Al-Oroudh Square in the Khormaksar district through an angry women-led demonstration denouncing rampant corruption and the worsening economic and living conditions, especially in the country’s interim capital.
This protest is part of a growing wave of public demonstrations that the city has been witnessing for months, involving citizens from all walks of life—both women and men—aimed at pressuring the authorities to respond to their demands in the face of a lack of real solutions to ease their daily suffering and curb the deepening crisis.
Participants held up signs and chanted slogans demanding improved services and rejecting inflation and the rising cost of living. They affirmed their commitment to continuing what they called the “Aden Women’s Revolution,” which began on May 10, as an expression of public outrage over the deteriorating situation, mismanagement, and the authorities’ disregard for the demands of both female and male citizens.
The women stressed that their movement stems from a legitimate right to a dignified life for themselves and their families—a right they described as now a distant dream.
They called for serious and urgent action to save what remains of the essentials of life in Aden and other governorates, warning that the situation may reach what they described as the “point of no return” if popular demands continue to be ignored.
