An emergency meeting was held in Al-Mahra Governorate on Tuesday, via Zoom technology, to follow up on the latest developments regarding the stranded tanker “Maliha” in Nishtun port.
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the governorate, Salem Abdullah Nemer, with the participation of the committee formed to follow up on the issue.
The attendees emphasized the necessity for the company carrying out the refloating operations to adhere to the specified timeline, with the condition of providing financial guarantees and officially signing the contract.
The committee stressed that any delay in implementation would require official justifications, along with holding an emergency meeting to take the necessary measures to protect the port from environmental and economic damage.
