Civil Defense teams of the Marib Governorate Police successfully extinguished a massive fire that erupted inside the “Ansam” pharmacy in the center of Marib city this morning. No human casualties were reported.
According to the Command and Control Department of Marib Police, Civil Defense received a report about a fire breaking out in a commercial establishment on Aden Street. Teams immediately responded to the scene.
The teams promptly evacuated pharmacy employees who were trapped inside and managed to control the blaze, which was close to spreading to adjacent shops and residential buildings.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, leading to the complete destruction of the pharmacy. Additionally, a neighboring grocery store and part of a residential apartment sustained damage, resulting in significant material losses.
The Civil Defense Department urged citizens to adhere to safety procedures and to report similar incidents promptly to ensure quick intervention and minimize damages.
