Houthis Announce Readiness for Full Prisoner Exchange

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Abd al-Qadir al-Murtada, head of the Houthi group’s prisoner committee, has announced the group’s readiness to conduct a full prisoner exchange involving all parties.
The announcement was made via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, coinciding with the advent of Eid al-Adha.
Al-Murtada emphasized the necessity of the deal encompassing all Yemeni and non-Yemeni prisoners without exception.
He called on Saudi Arabia to pressure other parties to accept this initiative.
He further affirmed that his group is prepared to implement the deal as soon as possible and without preconditions.
Observers believe that the Houthi group uses the prisoner and detainee file as a political pressure card and will not fulfill its promise if the legitimate government responds, as evidenced in previous negotiations.
