Tariq Saleh: A Decisive Battle Is Coming… Our Capabilities Will Surprise the Houthis

Yemen Monitor / Mocha / Exclusive:
Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh stated on Wednesday that his forces are preparing for an inevitable and decisive battle against the Houthi armed group, just days after he remarked that significant complexities were preventing the resumption of war against the group.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony for a new batch of military media personnel affiliated with the National Resistance Forces he commands, Saleh emphasized the readiness of his forces in terms of preparation and military equipment.
He asserted that his forces possess “capabilities and weaponry that will surprise the enemy on the battlefield.”
Responding to criticism regarding his previous alliance with the Houthis until 2017, Saleh said, “I fought the Houthis since the first war in 2004, while most of those criticizing me were still infants.”
Saleh reaffirmed the continuation of the military campaign and the ongoing efforts to train military units and thwart Houthi plots, revealing the interception of over three million explosive detonators in the Red Sea.
He also disclosed that his forces successfully intercepted a shipment last year containing over 400 missile bodies and 5,000 missile fins, reportedly en route from Bandar Abbas, Iran, to the Houthis. According to expert analysis, the equipment was intended for use in the Houthi “Badr-2” missile systems.
Earlier this week, during a meeting with journalists and media activists in areas under his control in western Yemen, Saleh stated that if war resumes, his forces will fight. Otherwise, he said, he would shift his focus to paving roads.
