Al-Dhale’a Executive Council Approves Reopening the Vital Murais-Damt Road After Years of Closure

The Executive Council in Al-Dhale’a Governorate (central Yemen) approved on Sunday, during an extraordinary meeting chaired by the governor of the governorate and commander of the axis, Major General Ali Muqbel Saleh, the reopening of the strategic Murais-Damt road after years of its closure due to armed conflicts.
The decision came amidst intensive discussions on enhancing security and improving services, with a special focus on repairing infrastructure and facilitating the movement of citizens.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Brigadier General Ali Al-Oud, the governorate’s deputies, and the directors-general of the directorates.
The meeting discussed ways to improve revenues and enhance security cooperation among relevant authorities, in addition to the importance of maintaining main roads, including the Al-Dhale’a – Sana’a road, which the governor described as the “lifeline” for citizens.
Major General Ali Muqbel Saleh affirmed that reopening closed roads, foremost of which is the (Murais-Damt) road, is a humanitarian priority unrelated to political differences.
He pointed out the local authority’s readiness to negotiate with all parties to end the suffering of citizens. He also stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve stability through joint action.
The meeting touched on coordinating efforts with the World Bank and the Road Maintenance Fund in Aden to ensure the quality of restoration work, with a focus on raising the efficiency of administrative work to ensure the implementation of projects within the specified timeframe.
