Houthis Threaten Strict Penalties for Violating Decision to Boycott US Goods
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The armed Houthi group has vowed to take strict measures against those who violate its latest decision to boycott US goods and products.
The Houthi-affiliated “Saba” news agency reported that “the head of the group’s so-called Supreme Political Council directed that a three-month grace period be given starting today (Wednesday), after which the entry of any piece of any American product and its presence in any commercial establishment will be prohibited.”
Houthi al-Mashat also directed Sana’a government (not internationally recognized) to issue a decision prohibiting the entry of US goods and to take the necessary measures against those who violate this decision.
The Houthis called on their members to boycott those who do not boycott American-Zionist goods, threatening to take strict measures against those who violate the decision and do not boycott these goods.
The US began a military campaign against the Houthis in mid-March after they announced their intention to resume military operations against ships in the Red Sea.
The intensity of US strikes has escalated in recent days, leaving a large number of casualties, especially in Hodeidah and Sana’a.
