Yemeni Embassy in Ankara Warns Nationals in Istanbul Following Earthquake

The Yemeni Embassy in Ankara has issued a warning to Yemeni nationals residing in Istanbul following the earthquake that struck the area around the city earlier today. The embassy urged all members of the Yemeni community to exercise caution and remain vigilant.

In an official statement, the embassy stressed the importance of strictly adhering to safety instructions issued by Turkish authorities to ensure the security and well-being of Yemeni citizens.

At 12:49 p.m. local time (9:49 GMT), a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Istanbul in northwestern Turkey, followed by dozens of aftershocks.

The Istanbul Governorate reported that 151 people were injured—mostly due to panic-induced jumps from buildings—but no fatalities were reported.
