Houthis Claim to Strike “Tel Aviv” and Target US Warships in the Red Sea
Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Houthi group said on Wednesday that it carried out two military operations. The first targeted an Israeli military target in the city of Tel Aviv, while the second targeted a number of US warships in the Red Sea.
The group’s military spokesman said that the group’s “unmanned aerial force carried out a military operation targeting a military target of the Israeli enemy in occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv) with a ‘Yafa’ type drone.”
He added that they “targeted a number of hostile warships, led by the US aircraft carrier Truman, in the northern Red Sea with a number of drones.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the Houthi group announced that it had shot down a US “MQ-9” drone with a locally made missile while it was carrying out “hostile” missions in the airspace of Al-Jawf Governorate in northeastern Yemen.
On Tuesday evening, the Houthis reported “a rise in the casualties of the US airstrikes on Al-Hok district in Al-Hudaydah Governorate (west) to 8 dead and 16 injured, including children and women.”
The US airstrikes come after President Donald Trump issued orders to his country’s army to launch a “major offensive” against the Houthi group, before threatening to “eliminate them completely.”
