Saudi Arabia Welcomes Jordanian Initiative to Resume Commercial Flights Between Amman and Sana’a

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Saudi Arabia welcomed on Friday the initiative announced by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to resume regular commercial flights between the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, describing it as a step that will help meet the humanitarian needs of Yemenis and facilitate civilian travel.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the Yemeni government’s approval of the initiative, calling it a “positive step” that reflects a commitment to facilitating procedures that serve Yemeni citizens and support efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering.
The ministry urged the Houthi group to respond positively to the initiative instead of repeating what it described as “previous decisions that have increased the suffering of the Yemeni people.” It also called on the group to refrain from any practices or escalatory measures that could further worsen the humanitarian crisis.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for all initiatives that contribute to achieving security and stability in Yemen while preserving its sovereignty and fulfilling the aspirations of its people.
