Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Naval forces affiliated with the Yemeni government on the country’s western coast announced on Sunday that they had foiled an infiltration attempt by armed Houthi boats in the Red Sea. The vessels were reportedly trying to approach the strategic Zuqar Island from the direction of the international shipping lane.
According to military media affiliated with forces led by Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh, an official source said that the National Resistance naval forces responded swiftly and forcefully after detecting the Houthi boats moving in the area, forcing them to retreat northward toward the Al-Fazah area.
The source affirmed that the National Resistance naval forces remain on high alert and fully prepared to secure the international maritime corridor, protect liberated islands, and confront any threats or hostile movements by the armed group.
