Rising Temperatures Increase Pressure On The Electricity Network In Marib, Prompting Scheduled Power Cuts

The Public Electricity Corporation in the Marib governorate, northeast of Yemen, is facing mounting pressure on the electricity network due to rising temperatures and increased load, prompting it to implement a scheduled power outage across all lines to ensure service continuity.
In a statement, the Corporation said it is coordinating with the management of the gas plant to find urgent solutions to meet the growing demand for electricity, emphasizing its ongoing cooperation with the local authority to address existing problems as quickly as possible.
Regarding the Hareeb power plant, the Corporation stated that it had contacted “Intrax” company and agreed on a set of measures to address malfunctions and technical issues, which will be implemented soon.
The Corporation called on citizens to rationalize energy consumption and reduce load as much as possible, stressing that community cooperation is essential to maintain the continuity of electricity supply during the summer season and high demand.
