Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, affirmed that Qatar’s policy toward Yemen is “clear and consistent” and is based on supporting legitimacy and the right of the Yemeni people to determine their own destiny.
In remarks on Tuesday during his participation in the Davos Forum 2026, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman stated that Qatar looks forward to seeing Yemen united, emphasizing the need to reach a solution that ensures coexistence among all Yemenis.
He explained that Yemen’s stability is of great importance to the security and stability of the Gulf states and the region as a whole, noting that achieving this stability requires working to build an effective security structure that enhances the sense of safety.
He added that supporting efforts to bring peace to Yemen stems from a commitment to the security and stability of the region, underscoring the importance of political solutions that guarantee Yemen’s unity and sustainable stability.
Recently, Yemen has witnessed strategic shifts on the political and military fronts, following the incursion of Southern Transitional Council forces into Hadramawt and Al-Mahra provinces. This prompted direct Saudi intervention, which resulted in ending the rebellion, removing the UAE from Yemen, dissolving the Southern Transitional Council in Riyadh, and announcing the Southern-Southern Dialogue Conference to resolve the southern issue in Yemen.
