Saudi TV: The Kingdom Will Not Hesitate to Take New Measures in Response to Abu Dhabi’s Policies
Yemen Monitor / Riyadh / Exclusive:
Saudi state television (Al Ekhbariya Channel) aired a report on Sunday in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia warned the United Arab Emirates against continuing its current policies toward the Yemeni file.
The report stressed that the Kingdom will not hesitate to take sovereign and decisive measures to protect its national security if Abu Dhabi continues what it described as a provocative approach that undermines efforts toward stability.
Al Ekhbariya opened its report by emphasizing that the Kingdom had made its position clear since the Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement on December 30, which urged the UAE to take tangible steps to preserve bilateral relations.
It stated: “However, Abu Dhabi government went in another direction; it organized the smuggling of Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, who is wanted by Yemeni justice, financed him and his followers to incite against the Kingdom, accusing Riyadh of supporting the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ and enabling ‘Al-Qaeda,’ and carried out media incitement through its outlets.”
The report explained that after the lapse of three weeks since the ‘final call,’ Riyadh is now viewing threats to its security with great seriousness, affirming that “the Kingdom will not hesitate to take the necessary steps and measures against anyone who harms or threatens its national security.”
The report said: “The political adviser in the UAE claims that his country’s compass is directed toward regional stability and prosperity, while the Saudi Cabinet statement calls on his country to halt any military or financial support to any party in Yemen.”
It added that the Saudi statement issued on December 30 constituted a final call from the Kingdom, and that despite the passage of three weeks, Abu Dhabi continues its incitement against Saudi Arabia. What appears now, the report said, is that the Kingdom—as previously announced—will not hesitate to take the necessary steps and measures against anyone who harms or threatens its national security.
The report reviewed a series of violations allegedly committed by the Abu Dhabi government, most notably organizing the smuggling of Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, who is wanted by Yemeni justice, and providing him and his followers with financial support to incite Yemeni factions against the Saudi role.
It also accused the UAE of financing demonstrations and escalatory movements in the temporary capital, Aden, aimed at sabotaging the planned Southern–Southern Dialogue scheduled to be held in Riyadh to unify the Yemeni front.
The report stressed the need for Abu Dhabi to cease any military or financial support to any party in Yemen outside the framework of coordination with the Kingdom and the Yemeni legitimate government.
This firm Saudi stance comes amid heightened tensions between the two countries, alongside continued incitement campaigns led by Emirati media outlets and officials close to decision-making circles in Abu Dhabi.
Since the end of December, hostile rhetoric has escalated across UAE-affiliated media platforms, including direct accusations against Riyadh of “empowering Al-Qaeda” in Yemen and claims of Saudi agendas allegedly conflicting with regional security.
