During Meeting with Journalists, Al-Shahrani: Local Security Apparatus to Secure Aden with Specialized Saudi Support

Major General (Staff) Falah Al-Shahrani, Advisor to the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, stated that the security of the city [Aden] will be handled by a local security apparatus. This force will be supported with specialized vehicles and equipment designed to reflect the civil and urban character of the interim capital, Aden.

During a meeting today with several journalists in Aden, Major General Al-Shahrani confirmed a serious trend toward removing military camps from the city and converting their sites into civil facilities that serve citizens under the management of the local authority. He explained that this process will be implemented across three specific time phases in coordination with all military and local leadership.

He noted that the implementation will follow a set timeline and will be closely coordinated with the leadership of the local authority and military commanders.

Furthermore, Al-Shahrani emphasized the Saudi leadership’s commitment to developing liberated governorates and addressing the Southern Issue, aiming for a just resolution in accordance with the outcomes of the Southern Dialogue currently hosted in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Al-Shahrani reviewed the results of meetings held between the Joint Forces leadership and local, security, and military authorities in Aden. These discussions focused on preparing the city, bolstering its security, and achieving stability in essential services.

He pointed out that the improvement of services will be accompanied by the implementation of several community initiatives in coordination with local organizations, contributing to the welfare of citizens and the local community.
