On Saturday, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, praised the efforts of the Yaman Foundation regarding its healthcare programs.
This commendation came during a meeting between the Governor and the Foundation’s Vice President, Dr. Majid Al-Sharjabi, who presented a detailed report on the programs implemented to develop medical personnel and strengthen health infrastructure.
Dr. Al-Sharjabi explained that the Foundation implemented the Integrated Health Resilience Program, funded by the German government through the German Development Bank (KFW), and in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Population and its office in Hadhramaut.
The program included:
- A diploma project in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care for 46 male and female doctors across five specialties.
- A project to qualify 67 technical midwives.
- The Mother and Newborn Health Voucher project, covering 15,800 beneficiaries.
- The expansion of the Emergency Obstetric Department at the Maternity and Childhood Hospital in Mukalla.
The meeting also reviewed planned future projects and the preparations for opening the Foundation’s office in the city of Mukalla.
Governor Bin Madi commended the Foundation’s efforts and qualitative interventions in the health sector, emphasizing that they represent a vital addition to raising the efficiency of medical personnel and midwives, and supporting maternal and child services in accordance with the governorate’s priorities and community needs.
For his part, the Foundation’s Vice President expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the local authority in Hadhramaut. He noted that this cooperation contributed to the success of the programs and achieved a positive impact on healthcare, while confirming continued support for the sector.
