Marib Prosecution: Summoning Organizations is a Preliminary Judicial Procedure for Clarification, not a Prejudgment of Any Party

Yemen Monitor / Marib / Exclusive:
The Public Prosecution in Marib Governorate (Eastern Yemen) clarified that the memo issued by the Primary Public Funds Prosecution—regarding the summoning of several representatives of international and local organizations for investigation into what is known as the “funding corruption” file—was a “preliminary judicial procedure to clarify information” and not a directive of prior accusation against any party.
In a statement posted on its Facebook account, the Prosecution stated that the controversy accompanying the memo and the inaccurate interpretations presented over the past few days, in addition to new data that has emerged, prompted the Prosecution to address the competent authorities regarding parties enjoying diplomatic immunity, to take whatever action they deem appropriate in accordance with governing laws and agreements.
The Prosecution affirmed its respect for the efforts of international partners in the humanitarian field and its keenness to maintain the rule of law and the prestige and independence of the judiciary. It stressed that it operates with complete transparency to prevent any inaccurate interpretations regarding the case.
Previously, the Prosecution had requested, via an official memo, representatives of 15 international and local organizations—including UN agencies—to appear within a week to hear their statements regarding the pending case related to “funding corruption.”
A private source within the prosecution told Yemen Monitor that the legal path regarding the case is continuing, despite intensified informal communication from UN bodies and embassies attempting to halt the summonses or neutralize some organization representatives under the justification of immunity.
