The Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen (Masam) announced on Monday that it has removed 4,130 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) left behind by the Houthi group in areas previously under their control across several Yemeni governorates, during the period from the beginning of October until the 24th of the month.

The operations room of the Masam Project clarified that the cleared items included 3,786 unexploded ordnance, 272 anti-tank mines, 62 anti-personnel mines, and 10 improvised explosive devices.

According to a statement from the Masam media office, the project’s teams managed to remove 805 mines, unexploded ordnance, and IEDs last week alone, as part of their ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni land of the remnants of war.

The statement added that Masam’s field teams have successfully cleared 1,100,201 square meters of contaminated land since the start of October, helping to restore safety to vast residential and agricultural areas.
