Al-Mahra… Oversight Committees Inspect Pharmacies in Al-Ghaydah to Verify Compliance with Pricing and Medicine Availability

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The city of Al-Ghaydah in Al-Mahra Governorate witnessed today an intensive inspection campaign that included several pharmacies. A specialized committee for price monitoring conducted field visits to assess the extent of compliance of pharmaceutical establishments with the official pricing of medicines and to ensure the availability of essential medical supplies for citizens.

The committee included representatives from several government entities, among them the Office of Health and Population, the Office of Industry and Trade, and the Environmental Health Department, with the aim of ensuring the implementation of approved sales regulations and monitoring prices.

The inspection team was led by Dr. Awad Mubarak Saad, Director General of the Office of Health and Population in the governorate, who praised, in a press statement, the high level of compliance shown by pharmacy owners with the governing laws. He affirmed their commitment to providing medicines to citizens at the officially set prices.

Dr. Saad expressed his appreciation for the great cooperation shown by those working in the health sector, noting that this visit comes as part of ongoing monitoring plans to regulate markets across various service sectors—particularly those related to public health.

No violations were recorded during the committee’s tour, which, according to officials, reflects the high level of awareness among workers in this sector and their adherence to the directives of the local authority, represented by Governor Mohammed Ali Yasser, as well as the efforts of the Health Office in supervision and monitoring.
