China has expressed its readiness to provide a new package of assistance to Yemen’s Ministry of Interior, as part of its efforts to support stability and enhance security performance in the country.
The upcoming aid package includes vehicles, communication equipment, and various security supplies aimed at improving the efficiency of the security forces under Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
The announcement was made during a meeting held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, between Shao Cheng, the chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Yemen, and Faraj Al-Bahsani, a member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council.
During the meeting, the Chinese diplomat reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council in ending the war and establishing lasting peace in Yemen, emphasizing the importance of continued bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
For his part, Al-Bahsani called on the Chinese side to expand Beijing’s presence in Yemen by establishing an economic and cultural center and resuming Chinese investments in the fields of oil, minerals, and agriculture.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of reopening the Chinese Embassy in Aden to facilitate direct communication and strengthen bilateral relations.
