The Houthi Place Prominent Lawyer Abdulmajeed Sabra in Solitary Confinement

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The brother of lawyer Abdulmajeed Sabra revealed that he had been placed in solitary confinement by the Houthi group in Sana’a, in his first contact since his abduction a month ago.

Walid Sabra wrote on his personal Facebook account that he received a call from his brother Abdulmajeed telling him that he was imprisoned in solitary confinement and demanded that the Bar Association be informed to take action for his release.

Walid Sabra held the Houthi group responsible for his brother’s life, demanding his immediate release.

The Houthi group had kidnapped “Sabra” on September 24 following a post he made, without any clear charge or legal justification, and with the Houthi militia keeping his place of detention secret.

Sabra is considered one of the most prominent lawyers who remained in Sana’a defending those abducted in Houthi prisons, defending journalists, and was subjected to harassment, and even prevented from pleading in court.
