Shocking Details Emerge on Houthi Abduction of Three Family Members, Including Newlywed

Yemen Monitor / Sana’a / Newsroom:

New and shocking details have emerged regarding the Houthi militia’s abduction of three members of Al-Fakhri family in Ibb province, including a young man who had been married for only twenty days. He was abducted along with his father and his paternal uncle in front of his bride at the Yasleh checkpoint located at the southern entrance of the capital, Sana’a.

Sources close to the family revealed to Yemen Monitor that the incident dates back to July 30, 2025, when citizen Salah Abdulaziz Al-Fakhri was returning from Sana’a to the Hazm Al-Odin district in Ibb province (central Yemen), accompanied by his son, the groom Ibrahim, his brother Hameed, and his son’s newlywed wife.

The sources reported that the Houthi checkpoint at “Yasleh” stopped the family’s car, which still bore wedding decorations, and began a rigorous search that lasted for hours, before detaining the three men and sending the bride back to Sana’a.

Since that day, approximately four months ago, the family has been searching for the abducted men without receiving any information from the Houthis regarding their place of detention or the charges against them. This occurs amidst ongoing widespread violations against civilians by the group in Ibb province.
