Yemen Condemns Netanyahu’s Statements on “Greater Israel” and Calls for International Action

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the statements made by the Prime Minister of the Israeli entity, in which he boasted of what he called the “Greater Israel Vision.” The Ministry considered these remarks a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and a challenge to the will of the international community.

The Ministry stressed that these statements clearly reveal the expansionist and racist mindset of the occupation, aiming to undermine the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace. It warned that the continuation of such provocative policies would lead to further tension and instability in the region.

The statement reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. It called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and take urgent and binding measures to halt these violations and hold the occupation leaders accountable for their practices that threaten regional and international peace and security.

On Tuesday, Netanyahu said during an interview with Israel’s i24 channel that he was “emotionally attached to the vision of Greater Israel.”

Netanyahu’s remarks come amid the continued rhetoric of the far-right Israeli camp regarding what they call “Greater Israel,” based on the claim that “Israel’s historical borders extend from the Euphrates River in the east to the Nile River in the south.” This is a clear reference to an expansionist project that goes beyond the historical borders of Palestine to include vast parts of Arab countries. His remarks also come as Israel’s genocidal and starvation campaign in the Gaza Strip continues, along with his declared intention to fully occupy it.
