Expected Breakthrough in Hadramawt Electricity File Following Arrival of Saudi Generators

The first batch of emergency power plant generators designated for Hadramawt governorate arrived this morning via a land crossing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of efforts to support the electricity sector and enhance service stability in the governorate.
Local sources said the shipment, bound for the city of Mukalla, entered under the supervision and follow-up of the local authority in Hadramawt, within an urgent plan to improve the power system and alleviate the suffering of citizens.
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, for this support, noting that additional batches of generators will arrive in the coming period to the cities of Mukalla and Seiyun.
Al-Khanbashi explained that the generators are part of a project for emergency power plants for the coast and valley of Hadramawt, with a total capacity of 200 megawatts, in coordination with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the Gulf International Energy Company, contributing to raising generating capacity and improving electricity service.
He affirmed that the local authority is following up on the completion of technical and logistical procedures for the installation and operation of the plants as soon as possible, ensuring they enter service according to approved plans and achieve a direct impact on the stability of the electricity service in the governorate.
