Israeli Army Announces Interception of Missile Fired from Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Israeli army announced on Thursday morning that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, just days after its fighter jets carried out a series of strikes on infrastructure in Yemen belonging to the Houthi group.

In a post on its “X” account, the Israeli army stated, “The Air Force has just intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, which triggered alerts in several areas of the country.”

Sirens had sounded in Tel Aviv as the army confirmed tracking the missile headed toward Israel.

Earlier this week, the Houthis claimed responsibility for two attacks within 24 hours targeting commercial ships off the coast of Yemen.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced that the group had targeted the Eternity C vessel—sailing under the Liberian flag and bound for the Israeli port of Eilat—with a drone boat and six missiles, causing it to sink. This came a day after they sank the Magic Seas ship.
