Explosion of War Remnants Injures Civilians Severely in Western Yemen

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The “Yemeni Observatory for Mines,” a non-governmental monitoring body, announced that two civilians were seriously injured as a result of the explosion of a war remnant projectile in Al-Hudaidah Governorate, western Yemen.
The Observatory explained in a statement that the explosion occurred in the vicinity of the Al-Durayhimi District center, south of Al-Hudaidah city, and resulted in the serious injury of two young men, Murad Qutaibi (25 years old) and Khaled Amari (24 years old).
This incident comes within a series of repeated incidents witnessed in the western coastal areas, as a result of the widespread presence of mines and unexploded ordnance left behind by years of conflict, which poses a constant threat to the lives of civilians, especially in agricultural and populated areas.
The Observatory renewed its call to intensify demining efforts and community awareness to reduce these incidents that continue to claim lives and injure dozens of Yemenis.
