The military spokesperson for the Houthis claimed that their group shot down a hostile US MQ-9 Reaper Drone in the airspace of Sana’a Governorate.This is the second such incident in 24 hours and the sixth during the current month of April.
The group’s spokesperson clarified that their air defenses downed the aircraft with a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile, bringing the total number of aircraft shot down to 21.
This aircraft is considered one of the most advanced and expensive unmanned aerial drone, with a single unit costing approximately $30 million, according to the Congressional Research Service.
