Yemeni Ministry of Interior Makes Extensive Changes in Aden Security

The Yemeni Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, issued a new ministerial decree introducing extensive leadership appointments and changes in the structure of the police force of the temporary capital, Aden, and a number of security departments affiliated with the ministry.
Ministerial Decree No. (14) of 2026, issued by the Ministry’s General Headquarters, stipulated the appointment of Brigadier General Doctor Omar Obaid Salem Al-Bakri as Assistant Director of Security for Operational Affairs, and the appointment of Brigadier General Naji Fadl Mohsen Naji as Commander of the Aden Police.
The decree also included the appointment of Colonel Hussein Saleh Mohammed Hussein as Assistant Director of Security for Security and Police Affairs, and Colonel Arif Ali Saleh Ahmed Al-Saadi as Assistant Director of Security for Human and Financial Resources.
In the Facility Guard and VIP Protection sector, the decree stipulated the appointment of Brigadier General Mohammed Ali Ahmed Sanatar as Director of the Department, Colonel Asaad Ibrahim Abdu Saeed as his Deputy, and Colonel Abdullah Mubarak Abboud Hamed Al-Thaqil as Chief of Operations.
As for the Patrol Police and Road Security apparatus, Brigadier General Labib Ali Al-Abd Al-Saadi was appointed as Director-General, Colonel Abdulrahim Mohammed Abdulqader Ahmed as Deputy Director, and Colonel Abdullah Qasim Faisal Alawi as Chief of Operations for the Patrol Police.
The second article of the ministerial decree also stipulated the appointment of Brigadier General Abdullah Abdulqawi Al-Obaid Abdullah as Director of Security for Aden International Airport.
The final articles of the decree stipulated that it shall come into effect from the date of its issuance on May 17, and that any prior appointment decrees that conflict with its contents shall be notified and canceled.
In a separate decree bearing No. (15) of 2026 and issued on the same date, the Minister of Interior appointed Captain Haitham Fadl bin Naseer as Chief of Staff of the Patrol Police and Road Security branch in Aden Governorate, provided that the decree is enacted from the date of its issuance and any previous decree is canceled.
