Israel Announces Interception Of Houthi Missile Launched From Yemen

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The Israeli army stated that air defenses intercepted a missile launched from Yemen early Wednesday morning.

The Houthi group has not claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s attack as of the time of writing, though it has announced launches against Israel in recent days.

In a statement, the Israeli army said its forces “detected the launch of a missile from Yemen toward Israeli territory, and air defense systems are working to intercept the threat.” Later, it announced that “residents are permitted to leave protected areas across the country.”

Sirens sounded in large areas of southern Israel, including the cities of Dimona, Beersheba, Ashkelon, and Sderot, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

Israeli media reported that defense systems intercepted the missile, and there were no reports of injuries or damage.
