Another Voice Silenced: Journalist Dies Following Shooting in Taiz

Journalist Abdul-Samad Al-Qadi has died from his injuries after being shot in the city of Taiz in southwestern Yemen.

Local sources reported that armed men opened fire on Al-Qadi on Thursday evening near Sinan Roundabout in the city center, leaving him critically wounded. He was transferred to intensive care before later passing away.

The journalist’s family called on security authorities to quickly arrest the perpetrators and urged journalists and human rights activists to take action to demand justice.

Security authorities have not yet issued any official statement clarifying the circumstances of the incident, as human rights calls grow for the swift pursuit, arrest, and prosecution of those responsible.
