Houthis Denounce the Lebanese Government’s Expulsion of the Iranian Ambassador
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Houthi group denounced today, Tuesday, through its so-called Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Lebanese government’s expulsion of the Iranian ambassador from the country.
The Houthi Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the Lebanese stance against Iran came at a time when the latter is facing “regional aggression,” referring to the American-Israeli war against Iran and Hezbollah’s involvement in support of Tehran.
The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants had summoned the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Lebanon, Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkho, and informed him of the Lebanese state’s decision to withdraw approval for the credentials of the appointed Iranian ambassador, Mohammad Reza Shibani, declaring him persona non grata.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry demanded his departure from its territory no later than next Sunday, March 29, 2026.
