Yemen Monitor / Newsroom / Agencies:
Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that the Emirate was subjected to an attack on Friday by ten Iranian drones, as part of the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory response to the US-Israeli attack against it. The ministry’s statement noted that the attack lasted from dawn on Friday until early this evening, confirming that the Qatari Armed Forces successfully intercepted nine drones, while one drone targeted an uninhabited area without recording any casualties.
In a related development, Iraqi security sources reported that Baghdad International Airport, which houses a military base and a US diplomatic facility, was subjected to a drone attack after midnight on Friday. A security official explained that the airport witnessed a series of attacks with drones and missiles, and ambulances were dispatched to the site, while another source confirmed that the attack led to a fire breaking out at one of the airport’s locations.
These attacks come amidst escalating regional tensions following the recent confrontations between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other, increasing fears regarding the expansion of the conflict in the region.
